Good Bye Burnout

Today, I want to talk about something we all experience but rarely admit to—burnout. The past week has been a whirlwind for me—finalizing my course, recording podcasts, prepping for my keynote, and coaching my beautiful clients... You know, the juggling act we all do!

By the end of the last few days, I found myself with headaches, no energy, and forgetting to eat. I was pouring all my energy into the business & chores. Normally, this is when I would have reached for a glass (or bottle) of wine to unwind and de-stress, but you know what? If fully honest it never really helped. Sometimes it made stress worse!

These days, I’m trying something different—actually listening to my body. When I feel burnt out, instead of numbing out, I block time for self-care and make it non-negotiable.

Today, I braved the windy weather, took a walk without my phone, and listened to the sound of the waves. It was like I was recalibrating, the wind was helping me clearing out the stress, and making space for new energy. I even popped into my local café, and in a sweet moment of kindness, they let me pay later since I had no phone or cash.  It’s little moments like these that remind me how important it is to slow down and savor life.

Oh, and a shower dance session to my favorite music helped too!  Self-care doesn’t have to be elaborate—it can be as simple as a walk, a coffee, or a shower dance!  What’s important is that you give yourself that time to recharge.

I won’t lie—wine used to feel like a quick fix, but it kept me in a loop, stuck in the same cycle. Plus it didn't give me that real break I needed. Taking the time to pause and listen to my body brings me back refreshed and more creative  plus more productive! Did you know? Science shows that when we truly rest, that’s when our best ideas come to life. 

So, please, make space for yourself. Listen to what your body needs and take care of her—you’ll come back better for it, I promise.
